Bedfordshire held a heat of the EBED Autumn Sim Pairs on RealBridge on Thursday 5 Sep 24. This raised £215.75 in donations to Cancer Research UK, together with the revenue collected by the EBU. Further donations can be made at Bedfordshire Sim Pairs (cancerresearchuk.org). 

Janet's House party on Sunday was a great success and raised a total of £1,230. Many thanks to all who donated, and especially those that could not make the day and still donated. Further donations always welcome at Janets Bridge Lunch (cancerresearchuk.org).

Our objective is to promote the playing and teaching of Duplicate Bridge in Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes, and encourage participation in inter-club, inter-county and national competitions. We support some 380 members and 5 affiliated clubs. We run a number of competitions throughout the year, with the main focus being on teams events as local clubs offer pairs events on most days of the week. We organise:

• An annual Championship Pairs competition, with qualifier and final. The leading pairs qualify to represent Bedfordshire in the national Corwen Trophy.
• A Teams of Four League of 10 teams, with the top four teams competing in a knockout for the Championship Teams trophy and qualification to represent Bedfordshire in the national Pachabo Cup.
• An annual Interclub Teams of Eight event, the qualifier for the national Garden Cities competition.
• Participation of Bedfordshire Teams of Eight in all three divisions of the Eastern Counties League (ECL) and in the national Tollemache Cup. 

We publish a Bulletin with news and articles three times a year (see "Bulletins" tab on left).
