| SESSIONS - LATEST NEWS |
Please check here for updates which I will post as soon as possible, and please let us know if you are able/unable to play.
We need to know how many players are wishing to play face to face on TUESDAY 21ST JULY at 1pm in the Club. We are aware of absences, so need to know if enough players want to play, so we can judge if the session will be viable. Please let Marj, Chris or myself know if you intend to play as soon as possible. Thank you.
PLEASE NOTE THURSDAY EVENINGS ARE CANCELLED FOR THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE, DUE TO INSUFFICIENT MEMBER AVAILABILITY. PLEASE LET CLARE OR MYSELF KNOW IF YOU WOULD BE INTERESTED IN PLAYING, ONCE WE HAVE ENOUGH MEMBERS AVAILABLE. THIS IS IN CONSTANT REVIEW, AS IS THE VIABILITY OF OUR ONLINE SESSIONS IN PARTICULAR.
More players always welcome at all sessions. Please contact Chris, Joan, Clare (for Thurs) or Pat (by clicking on this advert) if you wish to play at any time (even if you don’t have a partner).

| Cumbria Get Together |
An Afternoon of bridge with lunch
North Lakes Hotel, Penrith, 12th July.
This afternoon of bridge, including lunch, was organised and subsidised by Cumbria County Bridge Association, and attended by members from across the County, including Westmorland who have now amalgamated with Cumbria.
The aim was to encourage members to meet up with bridge players from other parts of the County to enjoy a relaxed game, and to perhaps realise that playing in County events can be fun! 22 tables played so 88 members from across the County enjoyed the experience.
Ken J acted as Tournament Director, and also quizmaster with a dingbat round of Book titles and a cryptic round of film titles. The quiz was won by our very own Steve and Joyce with help from Stuart and June T from Grange Bridge Club.
The stratified game which followed, was also won by Steve and Joyce, and all in all they had a very successful day.
Results can be found here https://www.bridgewebs.com/cgi-bin/bwos/bw.cgi?pid=display_rank&event=20260712_3&club=cumbria
Feedback received has all been extremely positive. It was described to me as a friendly, relaxed and well organised day, with people meeting up for the first time or catching up again after long gaps, one member told me she met with people she hadn't seen since before Covid.
As well as Ken J for his contribution, everyone acknowledged the work that Chris W, County Chair (and Barrow President) had done to make the event the success it was. Her organisational skills are legendary. Thanks to Chris and the County Association for sponsoring and organising this event.
