Children in Need Sim Pairs |
|
We'll be supporting the Children In Need Sim Pairs at our sessions on 12th and 13th November.
We're putting the table money for those events up to £6 for face-to-face and $8 for BBO.
This will cover the ECats admin charge and allow us to make a reasonable donation to the cause.

Bakewell Handicap Cup |
The Bakewell Handicap Cup had its first qualifying event on Wednesday 4th September. You can find it under Competitions in the menu - on the left side of the webpage on a computer and at the top on a mobile phone. Obviously, at the moment it will simply echo the handicapped scores from that session but as the months progress you'll see more scores appear on the competiton's web page.

Wednesday Afternoon Pairs |
NEW - Afternoon Pairs in Bakewell
Starting on 8th May, we will be running a weekly face to face session on Wednesday afternoons at The Medway.
Play will start at 2pm so please be there by 1:45 to ensure a prompt start.
This will be a relaxed game with a tea/coffee break halfway through.
But, it will be "proper bridge" run by a TD with the results uploaded to the EBU and eligible for Masterpoints.
There will be a host so don't worry if you don't have a partner - we'll pair you up with someone.
Hope to see you there on 8th May and as many of the following Wednesdays as possible.

Club News - Tuesday evening F2F |
TUESDAY EVENING HOSTING FULLY OPERATIONAL
We now have a rota of hosts fully established. So, if you want to play in our face-to-face session but don't have a partner, please do come along. We will be able to pair you with someone so you can have a full evening's bridge with us. There's no need to let us know in advance.
We will start play at 6:45 so please be seated and ready by 6:40 at the absolute latest.
Parking is very limited at The Medway so please car share and/or park in town if at all possible. If you have mobility issues, please let us know and we will reserve a space for you.

CONSTITUTION UPDATE |
Following the Special General Meeting held on 4th July, the club's constitution has been updated to reflect the two-tier membership arrangements that were approved at the AGM in June. The new constitution can be found in the menu (on the left on a computer and near the top on a mobile device) under "Club Information".

Online Alerting |
Alerting online in BBO is significantly different from face to face. We've written a guide under “Guidance for Playing” in our menu (on the left on a computer and at the top of the screen on a phone).
In summary, you alert all non-natural bids, not just up to 3NT, and you ALERT YOUR OWN BIDS.
Please also remember to give a summary of your system in the chat at the beginning of a round, have a summary on your profile, and post a convention card.
