Avery Point is a vibrant Senior Living community located in Richmond VA. There are a host of amenities and activities including an active Duplicate Bridge presence in a supportive environment. We currently have Duplicate games at two locations on the campus; the original game at the Emerson Square Card room and the second, "Over the Bridge" at the Wilton Crossing Classroom. And we would expect that other games may start as the campus build-out continues. The Duplicate games are not ACBL sanctioned; no ACBL masterpoints are awarded.
(In addition to the Duplicate games, there are also social Bridge games at set times.)
Please follow Duplicate Bridge Etiquette:
1. Greet opposing players as they arrive at your table
2. Make your opening lead face down and ask your partner if there are any questions to prevent you from making a lead out of turn.
3. For any irregularity, call the director. "Director, Please."
4. After you have finished the current round of boards, please keep any conversation low so that players still playing at other tables can finish without distraction.
The most important single skill any bridge player can possess is to be a good partner. By maintaining Bridge Etiquette your results will improve and you will develop a reputation as a valuable partner and a respected opponent. Above all you will help make the game enjoyable for everyone!
Play at Avery Point is restricted to Avery Point residents and their guests (if space is available)
