The Club
The club meets in the Tony Graham Room at the Community Centre in Chalfont St Peter, and has pairs events each Monday at 7:30pm. To ensure we are able to start play not later than 7:30pm players are asked to be seated by 7:20pm.
The table money is £4.00 per session for members and £5.00 for visitors.
The hands are pre-dealt and paper copies are provided, showing makeable contracts. The results are normally available at the Club at the end of play and on this site soon after.
Austenwood is EBU-affiliated and EBU master points are awarded.
Visitors are welcome and your first visit is free. If you would like to come but need a partner please phone Nigel Thompson on 07749 719548.
Delayed? If you are delayed please phone 07805 201265 or 07749 719548 before 7:20pm to ensure to be included. Any pair arriving after 7:20pm without having phoned will be included only if the director is able to do so without disturbing the movement.

Bob Smith, gentleman
It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Bob Smith. Along with his wife Helen, Bob was one of the founder members of Austenwood and on the 20th anniversary they were made Life Members in recognition of all they had done for the club - the '1000 Mondays group' ,along with the Millers, the Brentnalls and the Hoptons, in coming early and setting up the tables etc, for 50 weeks x 20 years. Bob was a lovely man, a true gentleman, a good bridge player and a very talented painter. After Helen's death he found solace in painting a wonderful full size portrait of their beloved dog on the fence in their back garden, signed 'Bobski' , comparisons with Banksy are definitely in order. There will be a funeral service at 4pm on April 28th in the Milton Chapel at Amersham Crematorium, followed by tea at his house. His ashes will be scattered with Helen's at a later date in a private event.

Berks & Bucks CBA Online League of 8
Congratulations to our team, captained by David Hamilton, which has come top of Division 2 in 2024/5 winning 7 out of 9 matches, and were promoted to Division 1. As expected it has been tough in division 1, but after 4 heavy defeats we had our first win on Jan 8th. Alas that was the only win and we will be back in Division 2 in 2026/7.
