Gentle Duplicate |
Operating online on the second Wednesday each month 2-4pm, these events provide the perfect opportunity to sample the world of competitive bridge, playing a gentle 12 boards of duplicate pairs - the bridge format most often played in bridge clubs. (This format is currently only available online as this is easier to administer with the small numbers of pairs in attendance).
Your scores are compared against the other participants, playing different opponents every two boards, of the same relative level of inexperience. Plenty of opportunity (should time allow) for feedback and tips from the Supervisors.
No need to turn up as a pair, as individuals will be paired up as available.
The online link is available on the Ascot website under Online Bridge\RealBridge Links.
Cost: £2.

These sessions occur twice per month, on the first and last Wednesday in each calendar month (with the exception of the week between Christmas and New Year in December). Additionally the third Wednesday when there are five in a month.
This provides an ideal opportunity for anybody lacking in confidence or wanting a little direction in their cardplay, bidding or general techniques, as well as an occasion to come and play in a non-competitive environment.
Each session provides the opportunity to play a maximum of 16 boards, during which you are allowed to ask for assistance by the experienced players in attendance, during the auction or the play of the hands. Constructive comments will be provided by any of the experienced players.
No partners are required, just turn up on the day, cost £3 per session.
