Starting Tuesday 21st November, we are going to trial combining the Tuesday evening online sessions of the Allendale and Wymondham Bridge clubs, START TIME 7:15pm.
Both clubs currently run Tuesday evening Realbridge sessions with fairly low table numbers (usually 4-6 tables). It is hoped that by combining the session we will get at least 8-10 tables, hopefully making for better events - greater variety of opponents, more comparisons, the option for Mitchell movements rather than Howells.
The sessions will be hosted by the two clubs on alternate weeks, but there will be no difference in collection of table money – each club will invoice its own members as currently happens.
Players will log onto Realbridge in the usual way using the links e-mailed to members and posted on the Allendale Website.
There is one important difference: the sessions will start at 7:15 (Allendale have previously started at 7:30, Wymondham at 7:00, so we compromised on 7:15). We plan to play 24 boards.
Undos will be allowed in bidding and play – but of course should only be requested for genuine mis-clicks, not changes of mind. No change from our usual practice.
Please give your opponents a brief summary of your system at the start of the round, and remember to announce and alert in the usual way.
I believe speed of play should be similar – we currently set up Realbridge for 14 minute for 2 board rounds but frequently move early, Wymondham set up for 13 minutes for a 2 board round.
If you need a partner best to contact Mike Jackson in advance (07508 542405), but if you log on and sit at high numbered table we will try to fix you up if we can.
The first session will be run by Wymondham (their director will be Philip Jones).
If you have any questions on this or want to give us your thoughts, please give Mike Jackson a call on 07508 542405.
