Sheila Bell DBC Hosts First Pro / Am Game

The Sheila Bell DBC of Texarkana played its first Pro/Am Game on Wednesday, June 17, 2026. Players were divided into two categories depending on their number of master points. The players with the least amount of master points drew the name of a player with more than one hundred points to be their partner for the day.
We had seven and a half tables, following a Mitchell movement. The entire membership felt it was very successful, and is planning to host many more Pro/Am games in the future.

Shiela Bell Group travels to NABC in St. Louis

In February, 13 members of the Sheila Bell Duplicate Bridge Club in Texarkana traveled to the 2026 Spring NABC in St. Louis.
WOW!  What an experience!  We played lots of Bridge, met lots of people and Bridge celebrities, enjoyed lots of food and drink, learned lots of things but most of all had lots of fun!!!

Five Kibitzers Welcomed to SBDBC

The Sheila Bell DBC in Texarkana welcomed five kibitzers from Lisa Looney’s newest bridge class on Wednesday, April 29th, 2026. They learned to enter information into the Bridgemates, move boards using a Mitchell movement and record contracts and scores in their new Scorebook. A few weeks earlier, all of the class were given coupons for four(4) free games when they play at our club. We hope they join us very soon. Reported by Molly Chambers.

Sheila Bell DBC hosts Unit 225 Monthly Game

February Unit Game in Texarkana
by Jo Britt

Thank you to the Texarkana Sheila Bell Club for a great time at our 2026 Valentine’s Day Unit game. Their club hosted a baked potato bar with a wonderful salad. And the desserts. WOW! Your members knocked it out of the park!

We had 7 tables in the Open section and 3.5 tables in the 299r section. The ones that played in the 299r were very happy that the Unit provided that section. It was such a success that we will continue having a novice section at the Unit Games. It will be either 199r, 299r, or 499r, depending upon the signups for the Intermediate/Newcomer section.

Thank you to every member for making each of us visitors feel so welcome!
