Latrobe City Council

Our council has helped us to relocate and update our premises. They have done some of the larger works on it and are most helpful when we need assistance. They can be contacted on www.latrobe.vic.gov.au

Clubrooms - Before and after
History

Traralgon Bridge Club had been located at the Uniting Church rooms for many years. It was very comfortable but we were unable to "grow" our membership or hold an event on a Sunday. 7 tables was about the maximum the room would hold. A group of members found this almost derelect building in the showgrounds in 2009 and thought it had great potential. The Latrobe City Council agreed to lease it for "passive table top activities". There was alot of elbow grease used to prepare the building for use but the effort was well worth while. We now have 10 tables on a regular basis and we also hire the hall out to other users. The Traralgon Bridge Club has installed fans, airconditioning, interior and exterior lights to assist all users to feel comfortable and safe.

Cleaners Cleaners

Sadie the cleaning lady came along to help the many willing workers to clean and paint the building.

The original view from the kitchen to the back of the room. As you can see there was "beautiful" multi coloured paintings for players to look at.

Now you have the view from the kitchen to the back of the room. The exercise equipment is stored down there where the gas heater is.

This was the original view from the back of the room looking towards the kitchen and office. Notice there is a gap between the 2 rooms and the ceiling. That was filled in to contain the heating and cooling.

This is the "after" photo from the back of the room near the heater looking toward the office and kitchen. You can see where the ceiling gap has been blocked off. The photo was taken where the exercise equipment is now stored.

West Wall West Wall

I am not quite sure how to describe this type of artwork other than "very colourful". Could you imagine trying to play Bridge with that in front of you?

Office Office

The office was a very deep lavender colour. There was a desk, a 4 drawer filing cupboard in it and plenty of mouse droppings.
