Latrobe City Council

Our council has helped us to locate and update our premesis. They have done some of the larger works on it and are most helpful when we need assistance. They can be contacted on www.latrobe.vic.gov.au

SISS Business Systems has provided our signage at the gate and on the building. Their assistance is greatly appreciated.

Clubrooms
Clubrooms

Welcome to this web site. The Traralgon Bridge Club wanted their own clubrooms so found an old building and renovated it. We moved out of our rented room and into our clubrooms in November 2009.

Traralgon is the powerhouse of Victoria with many coal fired power stations in the Region. We are situated 170 km east of Melbourne with a population of 22,000. As part of the Latrobe City, Traralgon has a diverse range of industries including power, agriculture, tourism, paper manufacturing and is the gateway to the Tarra Bulga National Park.

JOAN BUTTS SEMINAR

Traralgon Bridge Club
THURSDAY MAY 2

Session 1 - 11am-1.00pm
Improve Your Judgement – Opening the Bidding
“To Open or Not to Open” - that is the question. This workshop will examine different things to consider when in first, second, third or fourth positions. Do you need classic point requirements, or is it ok to lighten up a bit when you judge that your hand has some good features?

Session 2 - 1.45pm-3.45pm
Defensive Signalling - Attitude, Count, Suit Preference
Defence is important. You’ll defend about half the time in any bridge session. It’s tempting to sit back and see if declarer makes the contract, but, with a few tips, you can take much more interest when you’re defending. The cards you play, on partner’s lead, when declarer plays their suits, and when your side discards, are opportunities to unravel the mystery of the hand and who has what. Knowing which signal to show when is the art of good defence.
$15.00 per session
