| JOAN BUTTS SEMINAR |
Traralgon Bridge Club THURSDAY MAY 2
Session 1 - 11am-1.00pm Improve Your Judgement – Opening the Bidding “To Open or Not to Open” - that is the question. This workshop will examine different things to consider when in first, second, third or fourth positions. Do you need classic point requirements, or is it ok to lighten up a bit when you judge that your hand has some good features?
Session 2 - 1.45pm-3.45pm Defensive Signalling - Attitude, Count, Suit Preference Defence is important. You’ll defend about half the time in any bridge session. It’s tempting to sit back and see if declarer makes the contract, but, with a few tips, you can take much more interest when you’re defending. The cards you play, on partner’s lead, when declarer plays their suits, and when your side discards, are opportunities to unravel the mystery of the hand and who has what. Knowing which signal to show when is the art of good defence. $15.00 per session Add your name to the list at YOUR club and indicate whether you will be using the free bus and your pick up point.
