Building our New Home

Our quest to establish a permanent home for the Bridge Club is closer than ever and now appears to be well within our grasp.

This is to be accomplished in two ways:

  1. Continuing to grow our Building Fund through the generosity of our Members.
  2. Finalizing our partnership with the City of Palm Coast and building our Club financed through a joint committment of the City and our Membership.

Letter from our President: Current Status- December 10, 2014

Dear Members:

As I am sure many of you have read in today’s paper (http://www.palmcoastobserver.com/news/palm-coast/Front-Page/1210201410077/Next-phase-now-City-Hall-wing-could-be-expedited) the City has delayed the Community Center project for approximately a year.  The new date takes the project into fiscal year 2016/2017.

In a meeting with the city on Monday we were informed of this development.  It was also explained that part of the reasoning for delay is that it had been anticipated that the Community Center could remain open during the expansion construction.  However for safety reasons this would not be possible.  The additional facility being built at the new city hall would serve as a temporary home during construction for groups using the community center.

I just want to assure all members that we enjoy very cordial relations with the Church administrators and are renewing our lease with the church.   While we do hope to eventually be part of the new community center, we are in the meantime continuing in our efforts to find a facility of our own should any such opportunity arise.

With best wishes to all for a happy, healthy Holiday Season and a New Year filled with many master points!

Sylvia
