Full size mahogany card table needs a new home - The baize is perfect but the wood could do with a varnish. See Simon Gottschalk or any Tournament Director to view it. The table is free but a donation would be welcome.

Another great night on Friday with the Blues Dragon Club. Newcomer Morgan Reader wowed us all with a powerful acoustic blues set and then joined in with our regulars for the closing jam to huge applause.
Tuesdays 17th & 24th March: Club Championship Pairs at 7pm in the club. You must be available for both sessions.
A message from Martin: "We don't want people to have to have to miss 2 weeks' bridge, if at all possible. Therefore, if 2 pairs can only play one separate week each, both pairs can play but not win the Competition. The number of pairs playing each week must be the same"
Wednesday 18th March: Pro-Am Teams at 7pm in the club. Come along as a pair and you will be assigned appropriate team partners.
Friday 20th March: Duplicate Pairs (New) at 10am in the club. There is a short talk on an aspect of bridge at 9.55am and there is a host so everyone is guaranteed a game. The session starts promptly at 10am, we play 21 boards and masterpoints are issued.
Some bidding issues we have discussed in the short bridge talk are:
- Week 1: Can you bid 2D over 1S playing ACOL with as little as 6hcp?
- Week 2: Playing ACOL, can you respond to partner's 1S opening bid by bidding 2S with any hand containing 6-9hcp and three spades?
- Week 3: Please join us to find out more.
