No Trumps Part 2
No Trumps Part 2
No Trumps Part 2

Vary the game by playing with different suits, but only with one suit at a time.

Now add another suit - Spades. Shuffle all the Diamonds and Spades from a pack together, giving you 26 cards. As everyone should have the same number of cards in their hand work out how many cards to take out of the pack. For example, if 3 or 4 people are playing, leave two cards to the side but if 5 people are playing, leave one card to the side.

The only difference now is that players have to, ‘follow suit.’ That means that if the first player puts down a diamond, then everyone else has to put down a diamond; if the first player puts down a club, then everyone else has to put down a club.

If the next player hasn’t got a card of the right suit in their hand, they still have to put a card on the table, but even if it is a higher card, it cannot win the trick. The highest card of the chosen suit wins the trick. Players have to follow suit if they can. So, if a diamond is led a diamond must be played. If the player has none of the suit which is led, they can ‘throw away’ a card.

Play as in No Trumps Part 1, until all the tricks have been won. The player with the most tricks win the game
