Interested in learning bridge? Know someone who might be? We can help!
Many people may be looking for new ways to spend their time whilst normal life is on hold. As anyone who has ever tried it knows, bridge is absorbing, fascinating and fun. It is also the most social of games—you make many new friends at the bridge table. For a lifetime of future entertainment, now is the ideal time to learn.
Bridge translates remarkably well between online and face‑to‑face formats. We are very pleased to announce that Mike Eden, long‑standing club member and experienced bridge teacher, is now teaching bridge lessons online! He offers a fast‑track course for beginners that will teach you the basics (and more) in an accessible and stimulating way, so you'll soon be ready for your first duplicate bridge session.
Mike has a wealth of experience teaching bridge to people of all ages, and currently runs online courses for both teenagers and adults. Courses use Bridge Base Online (the world's biggest online bridge platform) alongside simultaneous interaction with Mike and the rest of the class over Zoom, so students are fully engaged and supported throughout the lessons.
The initial beginners' course is ten two‑hour lessons for £100, with follow‑on courses available. Depending on demand, the course can be run as weekly lessons, or with more frequent lessons if the class would like to move faster. An intermediate course may also be available.
For those who already play a little bridge and would like help to improve, Mike also offers online supervised play. If you are interested, or would like more information, please contact the club manager, Rachel, at manager@ycbc.co.uk.
