| Bridge Intro Weekend for Chess and Games Players |

The Young Chelsea Bridge Club's Bridge Introductory Weekend for Chess Players and Mindsports Enthusiasts will take place over the weekend of 18-19 April 2020. Cost is £35 and food is provided.
As a bridge player you will find yourself using many of the skills from chess - but while dealing with incomplete information, and communicating with your partner in a fashion constrained by the game's laws. Some of the greatest bridge players started out in chess; bridge is an ideal complementary interest for a chess player, given the two games' similarities and contrasts.
- GM Jonathan Mestel writes: Bridge has many different things to offer. Each hand starts in the deep unknown and the discovery element in bidding and play is intriguing. The psychological aspects of understanding what opponents are up to, and how to mislead them, is appealing. (For Jonathan's full article, click here).
- WGM Irina Levitina writes: Both games are fantastic. The best part of bridge is that it is a sociable game. You have people rooting for you. (For Irina's full article, click here).
Your teachers will be Youth Initiative Coordinator and England Junior India Leeming, and Young Chelsea stalwart David Parry.
Founded in 1968, our club remains an international destination for the younger generation of bridge players - so there is no better place to start.
