To my fellow chess players and hopefully future bridge players.
My name is Irina Levitina and I used to play chess professionally and now I play bridge professionally.
Both games are fantastic. They have a lot in common being both mind games and at the same time they are very different.
I am pretty sure that there will be no problem for you to master the technical part of the game.
It is much easier to count to 13 than to calculate chess variations. But believe me it is not that easy.
Now about the differences.
The main difference is the person sitting in front of you.
Remember, (s)he is not your enemy.(S)he is your partner, you do everything as a team.
For me the most difficult thing was to love and cherish my partner.
The best part of bridge is that it is a sociable game. You are not alone, deep in calculations for several hours. You have people rooting for you.
Please, join our bridge community.
You will enjoy it!
