Splitting Ties
Note that the information on this page is out‑of‑date and may not accurately reflect current practice.
When there is a tie for any place which attracts an award of prize vouchers, the tie will usually be split.
The exception to this is that when there is a three‑way tie for first place and there are three prizes, the prize vouchers will be combined and divided.
Ties will be split in favour of the pair with the greater number of above average scores (the greater number of plus scores on Fridays).
If this fails to split the tie, and if the pairs played against each other, the tie will be split in favour of the pair who did better on the head‑to‑head boards.
If this still fails to split the tie, the prize vouchers will be shared, with additional vouchers being awarded to avoid needing fractions of vouchers.
