Standings Previous Seasons
Information
Warwick Trophy 2020
The Autumn 2020 ladder season runs from Tuesday 1 September to Monday 7 December inclusive. In a departure from previous seasons, you receive a full handicap based on your NGS on the first day of the season applied to each session. Everyone is in with a chance to win, not just top ranked players: your objective is just to perform better relative to your NGS than anyone else does. To qualify to win the ladder you need to be a club member who plays in enough games with a variety of partners (details below). The winner will receive the Warwick Trophy.
The NGS strength of each duplicate also plays a part, with your handicap score being your actual score adjusted by the difference between the event NGS and your NGS: the stronger the field is the higher your handicap score is.
You can find your handicap score for a session both via the information button under the results menu and as a corresponding handicap session. (There will be a delay between the session results being posted and the handicap scores appearing.) Your current handicap standing over the season is in the table.
Note that in some circumstances the club may assign a player a notional NGS for ladder purposes. In particular, those who suppress their NGS from public view on the EBU website are affected. Anyone who would like their assigned ladder NGS adjusted can speak to the club. Handicap scores will change when an NGS is adjusted.
To qualify to win the handicap ladder you need to play in at least ten sessions of which at least three are on Friday evenings and at least three are on other weekdays. In addition you need to play with at least three different partners. Your average is calculated from your best scores (up to ten of them) which qualify you.
