Portrait of Tom Gunn (30 June 1945–8 December 2015)
The YC has this photograph of the late Tom Gunn—a true stalwart of the club. It shows him outside Ed’s Easy Diner in the King’s Road in Chelsea, London where he worked. That branch of Ed’s is no longer there. The partially visible words to the left and right of the doors are probably “homemade” and “Hamburgers”. The date the photograph was taken is something of a mystery—there is no date obvious on the back of the original. Since the script on Tom’s baseball cap says “Wayne’s World 2”, which came out in 1993, the guess is that the photograph was taken circa 1995—but it could have been later.
