Our FOURTEENTH Pairs series has now been completed, four and a half years on from its inception in March 2020.   Matches will be, by default, 16 boards, unless both pairs agree before match to play 12 boards.

VP scales below are shown for 16 and 12-bd games.

WBC Pairs 1: 21 pairs, all-play-all; Winners were John Sansom and Clive Owen.

WBC Pairs 2: 18 pairs in two parallel divisions; Div A was won by Nick Forward and Steve Allerston, Div B was won by John Dowbiggin, Simon Harrison and Tim Keates; Play-offs were won by Nick and Steve

WBC Pairs 3: 17 pairs in two divisions; Div A was won by Nick Forward, Sue Evans and Steph Forward; Div B was won by John Sansom and Clive Owen, who also won the Play-offs.

WBC Pairs 4: 16 pairs in two divisions; Div A was won by Jane Morton and Mark Askwith; Div B was won by David, Yvette and Adam Waide, who also won the Play-offs.

WBC Pairs 5: 16 pairs in two divisions; Div A was won by John Sansom and Clive Owen; Div B was won by Mike Vetch and Robert Chilimonczyk, who also won the Play-offs.

WBC Pairs 6: 14 pairs, all-play-all; Winners were Mike Vetch and Robert Chilimonczyk.

WBC Pairs 7: 8 pairs, all-play-all; Winners were John Dowbiggin and Tim Keates.

WBC Pairs 8: 17 pairs in two divisions; Div A was won by John Sansom and Clive Owen, who also won the Play-offs, beating Jimmy and David (winners of Div B) in the final.

WBC Pairs 9: For the first time WBC pairs was split into upper and lower divisions, having merged with WCBA "WCOP" in the previous series. Jimmy Ledger and David Thomas won Division One, narrowly beating Nick and Steve into second place; Div Two was won by Roland and George, also narrowly edging Richard and Keith into second place, and securing promotion to the top flight.

WBC Pairs 10: Division 1 was won by Nick + Steve, with Jimmy + David in 2nd place. Div 2 was won by David + Yvette, narrowly beating Mike + Robert in the final match to overtake them and push them into 2nd place.

WBC Pairs 11: Division 1 was won by Steve A, Nick and Mike W, with Dennis and Steve K in 2nd place. Div 2 was won by Jane and Mark, with Mick and Jayne in 2nd place securing the second promotion slot.

WBC Pairs 12: Division 1 was again won by Steve A, Nick and Mike W, with Jane and Mark winning a tight three-way battle for 2nd place. Div 2 was won comfortably by David + Yvette, with Roland + George in 2nd place.

WBC Pairs 13: Division 1 was won by Mike V and Robert C, with Dennis + Steve K in 2nd place; Division 2 was won by Mick and Gerald, with Tim + John just behind them.

WBC Pairs 14: A single division of ten pairs: Winners were Mick and Gerald, narrowly beating David + Yvette in 2nd place.
