Wirral Duplicate Bridge Club was formed in 1961 and continues to thrive based on three principles – a good standard of duplicate bridge played in a happy atmosphere by friendly people.
We play in Heswall Hall Community Centre on Wednesdays and Saturdays, members should be seated by 7.20 pm. These sessions are not for inexperienced players.
There is an assisted duplicate session every Tuesday at 1pm (no need for a partner) with beginners tuition available.
There are lessons for Improvers on Fridays at 7 pm with teaching for beginners also available.
The adjacent car park is excellent but can be busy when other events are on at the Hall.
We are members of the Merseyside and Cheshire Bridge Association (M&CBA) and are affiliated to the English Bridge Union (EBU).
All sessions are directed according to the rules of the EBU.

The results are calculated on the average of the best six percentages playing with the same partner on the first Wednesday in each month from January to November
The results are calculated on the average of the best 6 percentages playing with the same partner on the first Saturday of each month from January to November.
This is played on the third Wednesday of each month from January to November. Each person has their own individual Handicap which is derived from the EBUs National Grading Scheme. it is continuously updated, and for each event the computer accesses the grading applicable to that day. From the start of 2018 the adjustments are being applied in full (not at 60% as previously) to ensure a "level playing field". The winners of the event will be calculated on the average of the best 6 percentages playing with the same partner, over the possible 11 months to November
The winner is the person who achieves the highest average percentage playing with 6 different members over the course of the 11 months to November. If a player plays with the same person more than once, the best score is used in the calculation.
