Brief Guidelines on the use of Bidding Boxes
Do
· Place your bids in front of you so that your partner and opponents can clearly see each call\bid that you make (without hiding any previous calls\bids).
· If making a bid, ensure that you take the relevant card and all the remaining cards behind it from the box.
· Use the stop card before any jump bid you make and remove it from the table, only after the appropriate time (approx. 10 seconds) has elapsed.
· Leave all of your calls\bids out in front of you, so they can be clearly seen, until the opening lead has been placed on the table face up.
· Bid\call in tempo
DON’T
· Reach for the bidding box or cards until you have decided what to bid\call.
o This will ensure that no information about your hand is revealed incorrectly to any of the other players at the table
· Make a bid\call whilst a STOP card remains on the table
o This will ensure that are not penalised for imparting unauthorised information to your partner
