We found the shield languishing in the cupboard, last played in 1998 when Jacqui Payne and Ann Greenwood won it. It was probably dropped in favour of the Tom March Trophy. The committee has decided to reinstate it.

This trophy was donated by David Wing who completed 51 visits by bicycle to cathedral cities donating a cup at each and playing in the local Bridge club. His efforts raised a considerable sum for charity culminating in a special event held at the Richmond Bridge Club where David partnered a promising newcomer by the name of Zia Mahmood.
