If there is sufficient interest, Elisabeth Mathison will be running a 6-week course covering strong no trump, 5-card majors and associated conventions. Suitable for Acol players wishing to move to "5 and strong" or seeking an understanding of the system to help in defence. Not suitable for beginners.
Each lesson is about 2 hours long and combines theory with exercises and practical play. Cost £110.00 for the 6-week course for both members and visitors.
Topics to be covered: Strong NT with Stayman (and variations), Jacoby transfers/Texas Transfers, 5-card Major opening, Minor opening (short club/better minor) and responses, rebids and negative doubles, Jacoby 2NT, Bergen raises, Check back Stayman, Drury.
Minimum 8, maximum 16 participants.
