We are delighted to announce that Ned Paul will be running his "Learn Bridge in a Weekend" course at Wimbledon Bridge Club in October 2026. Ned is a full-time professional bridge teacher and has run the weekend courses for over 10 years with excellent results. Ideal for busy people who don't want to commit to 10-week courses. As well as two days of bridge tuition and playing practice, you will get full course notes, lunch on both days and membership of Wimbledon Bridge Club to 31 March 2027. Tuesday mornings 10:30am: Declarer Play 4-week mini course with Luiz Lima. Starting 14th July. Suitable for players who have completed at least terms 1 and 2 of the Beginner’s Course and would like to strengthen their Declarer play. Thursday evenings 6:45pm: Revision tutorials with Hilary. Starting 16th July. This is a free 30 minute session before the evening mini duplicate - so do please stay to play. It will cover bidding topics (for declarer play, try the Tuesday morning mini course). No need to book for the tutorials, just come along for a prompt 6:45pm start. First topic will be what is the bidding barrier and why does it matter (aka the reverse). |
Open Morning and Autumn Courses
Blue Pointed Swiss Pairs, Sunday 14th June 2026
On a sunny Sunday afternoon, 46 pairs arrived for the Wimbledon Blue Pointed Swiss Pairs. After 6 matches (including a break for coffee and cake), the successful pairs were:
1st Fergal Boland and Huaiyu Fan, 2nd Kevin Robins and Graham Cunningham, 3rd Shivam Shah and Meena Samani, highest placed non-experts Denise Grimston and Ann Ingel. Congratulations to all and thank you for coming.
The next Wimbledon BP Swiss is on Sunday 23rd August.

Play with a Club Expert. 28th May 206
A huge thank you to all our club experts who gave their time and expertise on Thursday evening. After one of Ellen's delicious cheeseboards and a glass of wine, each expert played with a novice or improver player and gave tips and pointers for improving bidding judgement, declarer play and defence. Our next Play with a Club Expert will be on Thursday 29th October, invitations will be sent out to all eligible players.
