West Bridgford Bridge Club needs some new commitee members.
Please see if you could spare yourself for 3/4 meetings (usually before we play on a Monday night ) per year.

Nottinghamshire County Bridge Association arrange a night once a month enabling members of Bridge Clubs in Nottinghamshire to play together.
This is a great opportunity to meet and play against other players from all over Nottingham.
This monthly event is held at the Nottingham Bridge Club on Mansfield Road.

Minutes of the West Bridgford Bridge Club Annual General Meeting held
on Monday 30th April 2018
Present: D Hazeldine in the chair and 22 members in attendance.

1. Minutes of the last meeting
The minutes of the meeting held on 24th April 2017 were unanimously approved.

3. Treasurer's Report
Ian Dovey reported that the club had made a loss of £700 in the last 12 months. This was
largely due to the loss of members and the reduction in the average number of tables on
club nights (5/6 most weeks). We need 7/8 tables to break even. The club has
approximately £2500 in the bank so we have enough reserves to continue for a number of
Despite the loss in income there will be no change to the subscription (£15) or the table
fees (£2) for 2018/2019.
Ian thanked David Dunford for examining the accounts.
The accounts were unanimously approved.
4. Chairman's Report
David Hazeldine presented his second and final chairman's report.
Our Team of 8 won the division 2 league; many thanks to Shirley Ashtari for running the
team and for all those club members who turned out to play.
We have again lost some club members. In particular Shiona Dawson and Tim Anderson
who have moved out of the area. Both have made substantial contributions to the smooth
running of the club.
A training course is being run at Edwalton Golf Club on the first two weekends in June.
Hopefully this will result in attracting some new club members.
David thanked all the club members who have helped to keep the club running smoothly.
This includes the tournament directors, the committee (in in particular to Ian Dovey for
preparing the boards and entering the results on the club’s web-site) and all those who
help to set up and pack away the tables etc.
David concluded by saying that the committee is always keen to attract new members.
David Hazeldine has completed his two years as chairman and is replaced by Dave
Beaumont, with Utkarsha Joshi as vice-chairman. No other nominations were received
so the remaining committee members are re-elected with the following positions:

The only competition run in the last year was the Pairs Trophy which was won by Shirley
Ashtari and Ian Dovey.
