Committee Meeting 26th March 2018

Minutes of the Meeting of West Bridgford Bridge Cub

held on Monday 26th March 2018

Present: Dave Beaumont, Shiona Dawson, Ian Dovey, Clive Goode,

David Hazeldine (Chair)

Apologies: Utkarsha Joshi

1. Matters Arising From Previous Meeting

2. Financial Update

No change. We need 7/8 tables each week to break even so we are losing a small amount of money each week. No problem in the short term but we need to recruit more members (see section 5 below).

3. WBBC Privacy Policy

A privacy policy for the club has been added to the web-site to bring us in line with the new General Data Protection Regulation.

4. TD Refesher

A directors refresher course has been organised by the NCBA. David Dunford will be attending and asked to provide any feed back. Action: DH

5. Recruitment and Retention of Members

An additional Fast Track course is being run at Edwalton on the first two weekends in June. Currently 9 people have signed up. The advertisements that were originally run in the local free press will be amended to reflect the new dates. Action: SD

Further details of the course can be found at the South Notts web-site ( Shiona will be stepping down from the South Notts group and it would be helpful for the club if we could find another volunteer from West Bridgford to replace her. Action: All.

We currently have a “Find a Partner” initiative run by Richard Ekins. It would be useful to compliment this with a Host system such that people without a partner could be guaranteed a game. This would help with retention of new members.

6. AGM

The club AGM will be held on Monday 30th April. The agenda will be circulated in the near future. Action: DH/CG

7. AOB

The possibility of getting additional heating installed in the room we use is to be raised with the golf club. Action: CG

8. Date of Next Meeting

TBA: Action: DH
