Committee Meeting 14th August 2017

Minutes of the Meeting of West Bridgford Bridge Cub

Present: Shiona Dawson, Ian Dovey, Clive Goode, Utkarsha Joshi,
David Hazeldine (Chair)

Apologies: Dave Beaumont
1.
Matters Arising From Previous Meeting
1.1 Venue
Investigations of the previous venue (The Arena) and one the venues we originally
rejected (The Cricket Club) have not proved fruitful.
The only available room at the Arena is too small and the cost would be prohibitive. There
have been improvements at the Cricket Club but the available room would still be used as
a thoroughfare for non-bridge folk.

Thus the committee agreed to remain at the Golf Club for the time being.

2. Financial Update
With the current average of 5 tables each week we are losing money. This is still not a
problem in the short term but the committee need to consider ways forward at the next
committee meeting.
3.
Teams of Eight
We will be entering a single team this year (in division 2). Fixtures and dates will be
available towards the end of August.
