Ladies vs Gents 12th February

The Ladies vs Gentleman match was run on Wednesday 12th February as a teams of 8 match. 6 regular mixed partnerships split to make the 2 teams:

Shiona, Shirley, Val, Pat, Judy, Barbara, Polly and Barbara
Tony, Will, DavidC, AlanG, JohnW, DavidH, JohnB and Jim.

The Gentlemen were keen to maintain their string of successes in this annual match, though the Ladies were equally intent on denying them another win.

None of the first 6 boards provided a game score, though 3 pairs played in 4S on board 4.

As the cards lay, 10 tricks cannot be made. Well bid the Gentlemen who stopped in 3S. Should you be in game on this? 8 points to the Gentlemen, the largest score on round 1 which ended Gentlemen 2 points up. Overall the boards on round 1 were pretty boring, and we thought that Ian, unable to play, had set the computer to deal us some dull hands.
