Learn Bridge in Wiltshire

Bridge courses are available for complete beginners who may never have played the game before and for those that have been introduced to Bridge or Whist at some time and understand the basic ideas of how the game is played.  Courses are also available for Improvers, those that have learnt the basics, either recently or in the past, and wish to develop their game further.  There are also courses available for those that may play bridge regularly, either at home or in clubs, and wish to learn more and develop their playing skills by learning new conventions or sharpen up on their defence or declarer play.

There are a variety of courses starting at Bath Bridge Club in September 2026, covering both beginners and improvers. There will also be assisted play sessions running on Wednesday mornings.

Bridge for Beginners Malmesbury

The course lasts 30 weeks. No prior knowledge needed - complete beginners or "I played years ago" welcome!

Beginners and Improvers Bridge Classes at Swindon

Learn to play bridge in a fun, friendly environment. New bridge players are always welcome to the game at Swindon Bridge Club.

Beginners - if you are interested in learning  to play bridge, new classes will be held weekly on Tuesdays 7pm, from 15 September 2026. 30 weeks - £7 per lesson. The focus is on playing hands (from lesson 1) and NO previous card playing experience is necessary. - just a willingness to try something new! Classes will be run by Mike Baker.

Improvers - if you have learnt the basics, you are welcome to join Garry Towns each week on Monday evenings (7pm to 9pm) from 14 September 2026 to recap your bridge skills and to extend your knowledge.

Learn bridge in Ramsbury/Marlborough

Carol Smith has been teaching beginners and improvers for several years. Her lessons have been carefully designed to provide a fun and engaging learning environment with ample time to practice. She delivers clear and supportive instructions that build your knowledge step-by-step at the beginning of each session. You will then have the chance to play pre-prepared hands that illustrate and reinforce the lesson's topic. 

Beginners bridge lessons will start Wednesday 3rd September, 10am to 11.45am, followed by Improvers bridge lessons on the same day from 12.15pm to 2pm. Both sessions will take place at the Memorial Hall, Ramsbury, near Marlborough.

As a bridge tournament director, an Approved teacher, and a Professional member of EBTA, she is fully qualified to ensure you are taught bridge correctly. She offers a friendly and welcoming environment to learn and enjoy bridge. She also teaches bridge on cruise ships!
