  Description and Entry Forms for all County Run Events

Listed below are brief descriptions of the competitions run by the County for its members.  We hope you will find some that suit you and look forward to seeing you at an event in the near future.  If you have any queries or suggestions please click here

 

  Garden Cities Qualifier

As in previous years, Wiltshire will be holding a heat of this Teams-of-Eight competition. It is open to EBU affiliated clubs in Wiltshire and it will take place at Chippenham Sports Club on Sunday 18 January 2026 at 2pm. All team members must be bonafide members of their club.  Clubs may enter more than one team, but only one team may be able to play depending on the total number of entries. Please indicate on the entry form, e.g. Melksham A/Melksham B etc. The winning team will represent Wiltshire in the Regional Finals against other South-West Counties on Saturday 9th May 2026 - venue to be confirmed. The national final will take place on 6th June 2026 at West Midlands Bridge Club. More information on the Garden Cities can be found on the EBU web site, by clicking here.   Nine High Corwen Qualifier

Nine High Corwen Qualifier Sunday 1st February 2026

The Nine High Corwen Qualifier will take place online, on BBO, on Sunday 1st February starting at 2pm. Each player must have a maximum NGS of 9 or below as of 1st January 2026. If you are not sure about your NGS or if you have any questions, please contact the host, Vivienne Day, at day.vivienne@gmail.com. Players will play 2 sessions of 14 or 15 boards each, with a break roughly half-way. The entry fee is only £10 per pair - a reduction on last year.  The top 3 players who have Wiltshire as their primary county of affiliation will qualify for the Nine-high Corwen final on Saturday 30th May 2026 - for more information, click here to visit the EBU page.

  Championship Pairs Qualifier

Wiltshire Championship Pairs Qualifier, Sunday 15th February 2026, 2pm

The annual Wiltshire Championship pairs will be held on Realbridge, and is open to those who have Wiltshire as their primary county membership.

The top 3 pairs on the 15th February will represent Wiltshire in the Corwen trophy. It will be played on the 30th and 31st May at Nottingham. Click here for more information about the Corwen.

The entry fee is £20 per pair, payable  in advance by bank transfer to WCBA.

  Pachabo Teams Qualifying event

Pachabo Cup Qualifying event for teams of 4

This qualifying event of teams of 4 for the Pachabo Cup will take place on Sunday 19th April 2026 at Nursteed Centre, Devizes, SN10 3AF.  The entry fee is £24 per team. The event will start promptly at 2pm, so please remember to arrive and be ready to play by 1.50pm. As it is a County event, between 36 and 42 boards will be played depending on the number of entries, with a break of around 30 minutes part way through. There will be drinking water available, an urn to provide hot water, tea/coffee and cups for hot drinks, but please bring your own food for the break. Please pay by bank transfer to:

  Chairman's Bowl and AGM

Chairman's Bowl

The Chairman's Cup will take place on Sunday 17May 2026, after the AGM at Nursteed Centre, Devizes. The competition should start about 2.30pm, after the AGM is finished. This is a handicapped event, open to all Wiltshire members. The results on the day without handicapping will be uploaded to the EBU, but the winners of the Chairmans Bowl will be announced after the handicapping has been applied. There is no charge to enter this competition. Please bring your own food - there will be access to an urn for hot water, tea and coffee will be provided.
