Slow Play
Slow Play

Slow play is something that we all try to avoid and as a club we have introduced a clock to help to try an eliminate this.

We normally allow for 7 minutes per board and then 90 seconds for the move to the new tables giving the EBU recommended time for each round of 22 1/2 minutes for 3 board rounds.

Our clock gives a 2 minute warning notifying the end of the round..

Any board where the bidding has not started when the clock has given the 2 minute warning should not be played and the director notified accordingly.

The board will be scored as not played unless it is apparent that one pair was solely responsible and this will then be scored 40%/60%.

If the move has been called by either the director or the clock, then

unless at least one card has been played, the director will not allow that board to be played.
