The Main Section on Tuesday 29th April will be teams of 4. 

To guarantee a game in the Main Section, you must find another pair to make up a team of 4 for this enjoyable format. If you are having a problem finding another pair, then contact Donald Reid, and the partner finding service will do its best to help.

If you would like to play in the Gentle on Tuesday we will playing the normal duplicate game and so you just need a partner not a team!

As of Tuesday 6th May members will no longer pay cash at the game for their bridge.  An invoice will be raised online and members will be sent a monthly statement.  Members should make an online bank transfer to the club just once a month or even less often if you wish to prepay or set up a standing order.  Members are kindly requested to pay promptly.

Visitors for the time being will still be required to pay in cash - this will generally be £5 per game or £7 if it is a SIMS and the correct money would be appreciated.

Cashless Bridge Information

Supervised Play runs online on Real Bridge on alternate Monday evenings at 7.30 for about two hours.  You will receive supervision on the evening over 12 boards (taken/adapted from a club duplicate session) with hand records afterwards including suggested bidding and play tips. The sessions are aimed at those who are doing, or have done, the Improvers course and who want to build their skills and confidence towards playing in club duplicate sessions.  The charge is £5 per session, billed at the end of term and payable by bank transfer. 

Sessions will be restarting on Monday 5 May, 19 May, 2 June and 16 June.

You need to let us know in advance if you are interested and then we will put you on our specific circulation list.  A memo is then sent round, normally on the Tuesday before each date asking who wants to play, with confirmation and links on the day before the session, so as to allow us to arrange full tables.  Please notify us of your interest marking it Online Supervised Bridge and emailing our club email for the attention of John at wbbcmembership@proton.me

The Gentle Section on Tuesday evenings is proving very popular and is aimed at both Improvers and players who would prefer not to play in the more competitive main section. It is shorter than the main session (about 18 boards), so would also be suitable if you don't like a late finish. It starts at 7:30 at the same time as the main section - please arrive no later than 7:15. In order to cut down on unnecessary coffee cup wastage, if you would like to have tea or coffee, we are asking all members to bring their own reusable coffee cup.

We plan to be strict about supplying tea and coffee if you don't have a cup.

Monday morning Gentle bridge sessions run from 9.45am to 11.45am. This is a gentle session aimed mainly at improvers and those who come to supervised bridge. The cost is £3 and we aim to play about 14 boards. You are welcome to come without a partner - we will find someone to partner you.

Our Face to Face Thursday morning is now very popular. This duplicate bridge session runs from about 10.00-12.30 and is usually around 18 boards.  Please arrive no later than 9.45 for a 10.00 start. The session attracts EBU masterpoints but is not NGS ranked.  The charge is £3. As a change from how the session used to operate you will need to come along with a partner.

Since we are approaching our maximum capacity of about 24 tables for this session, this session is now for Members Only - no visitors please.
