Warwickshire Online Pairs League – Information for New Entrants

The current series of the Pairs League came to an end on 17 June. The next series will run for 5 monthly sessions from September to January with a second series from February to June. This notice invites new pairs to enter the competition.

The League is currently made up of 3 divisions with promotion and relegation at the end of each series. It is held on the third Tuesday evening of each month and is run online on RealBridge.

The first 3 evenings consist of three 8 board matches on a round robin basis in which each pair will play every other pair in their division as far as possible. The last 2 evenings consist of two 12 board matches run on a Swiss basis.

If a pair cannot play in a session then they must provide substitutes for one or both players. An alternative for the last 2 sessions is to Pair Off with another pair in the same division such that neither pair plays in that session.

New pairs will normally enter into the lowest division.

To enter, both members of each pair must be members of the Warwickshire Online Club. It is free to join, involves an easy application procedure and gives automatic secondary membership of the County for those who aren’t already primary or secondary members.

The cost per pair is £40 for the series from September to January, or £70 for both series. Entry should be made by the end of August and is made by completing the entry form found on the WCBA website Home Page.

Payment should be made by bank transfer to Warwickshire County Bridge Association as follows:

Sort Code: 40-28-18 Account Number: 12119285 Reference: Entrant’s Name
