  Lessons

Intermediate Lesson April 1st with Phill Fent 9:30am till 12:00pm

Jumping For Joy! – NT Raises to Major Openings

What does it mean when you respond to partner’s 1 of a Major with a jump in NT? It is a happy shout for joy telling partner we have a fit for their suit and a balanced hand! Phill will guide you through this raise structure with clear explanations, examples and plenty of hands to play. Only $18 for VBC members - no partner required, just bring your curiosity and enthusiasm.

Beginner’s Lessons

We are restarting our beginner’s lessons on April 10th with the option of starting or coming to a repeat lesson on April 12th. For any of our members who recommend someone who attends the lesson series, they will receive 2 free playing vouchers.

CLUB EVENTS

VBC Blutstein Swiss Pairs March 10th, 17th and 24th - A 3 week VBC club RED POINT event held online on Real Bridge. Open to all (Visitors Welcome).  Commences each night at 7:30pm.  Players are requested to be seated by 7:15pm. The format is Swiss Pairs.

Ros Blutstein played on both Open and Women’s teams for Victoria. She was a fierce competitor at the table. Away from the table she was a strong analyst, with a generous and kind nature. The Blutstein Swiss Pairs is the Premier Monday night event on the VBC calendar. You can register for this event through myABF here.

STATE EVENTS

Victorian Open Pairs February 26th, March 5th, 12th and 26th. The Victorian Open Pairs is one of the three most important events on the Bridge Victoria calendar and the longest-running pairs event in Australia. It has been won over the years by many illustrious pairings, with Bill Jacobs appearing a remarkable 11 times on the honour board.

This year’s event commences on Wednesday February 26 at 7.30 at the club and runs for 4 weeks. This a wonderful opportunity to participate in a major state event which uses a very familiar format … matchpoints … just like all club Duplicates.

You can register for this event through myABF here.
