Bridge Festival Guidance Notes

2024 Spring Charity Bridge Festival

Guidance Notes

Online Group Entry

If you have 'signed-up' to play as a group on BBO, BCL or RealBridge then you will be sent the deal files and 'read me' files in advance of your selected playing date.

After the event you will need to send the results xml file directly to ECatsBridge as soon as possible.

It is highly recommended that you test this procedure beforehand (with a 'dummy' set of results).

Full details on the above are available here.

The commentaries for each day's play will be available after 22:00 hrs for further download and the ongoing daily results accessible from the ECatsBridge website

Online Single Entry

If you have 'signed-up' with your partner to play online, you will receive an email advising you how to join the Festival about 7 days before the event.

The results of your game will be automatically uploaded for you by your host platform.

These are the preliminary guidance notes for BBO players

The commentaries for each day's play will be available after 22:00 hrs for further download and the ongoing daily results accessible from the ECatsBridge website

Face-to-face Duplicate Pairs (BridgeWebs)

If you have 'signed-up' to play as a Face-to-face group then the deal files and 'read me' files will be sent to your "non-playing" member such that the hands can be made up well in advance of the game.

After the event you will need to send the results xml file directly to ECatsBridge as soon as possible.

If you are using ScoreBridge, EBUScore, PairsScorer or DuplicateScorer then click here for further information as to how to extract the results file.

The commentaries for each day's play will be available after 22:00 hrs for further download and the ongoing daily results accessible from the ECatsBridge website

Duplicate Pairs - Manual Scoring

If you have 'signed-up' for this option, then the deal files and 'read me' files will be sent to your "non-playing" member such that the hands can be made up well in advance of the game.

We are unable to include your results in the ECatsBridge National Results that are available a couple of days after the event. However, we are hopeful of combining your group's results in the "post-event" results analysis. Full details here

The commentaries for each day's play will be available after 22:00 hrs for further download from the ECatsBridge website

Chicago / Social Bridge

If you have 'signed-up' for this option, then the deal files and 'read me' files will be sent to your "non-playing" member such that the hands can be made up well in advance of the game.

The commentaries for each day's play will be available after 22:00 hrs for further download from the ECatsBridge website

Donations

As well as having fun playing Bridge, we’d like to raise money for charity during the festival.

The recommended charity donation is £3 per person, per session, payable after the event, but contributions over and above this would be greatly appreciated. This covers the administrative costs of the event (50p plus VAT) and excess funds will be divided equally between Cruse UK and Parkinson's UK.

We ask that you pay after the event. For group entries we would request that the group leader collects the "table money" and sends a single payment to ECatsBridge.

Payments details are here
