Monthly Friendly Duplicate Sessions (with extra Practice hands)
We've had some important feedback from our previous students that while they have had little problem doing each lesson, once they move on to the next lesson, they quickly forget what they've just learned.
To help combat this, we have decided to run a regular Monthly friendly Duplicate Session on the fourth Wednesday of the month.
This is ONLY open to students from our 1Q_2024, 3Q_2024 & 1Q_2025 courses.
FORMAT: Each Duplicate Session will have 16 hands; it is important that you do not sit at the table unless you are prepared to play all 16 hands. These 16 hands allow you to compare your performance to others.
After the Session, you will have access to an extra 16 Hands – 32 in total – for further practice and analysis. The first 24 will be based on previous practice sessions, with commentaries, while the last 8 will be random hands without commentaries.
SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION: After the Session, Bidding & Playing Commentaries will be available for the first 24 hands. Bidding Commentaries are below; the Playing Commentaries will be available using the NFB My Hands option.
POST SESSION PLAY: Players are encouraged to use the RealBridge Post Play option: you can self-organise into groups of four (via WhatsApp?) to re-play the hands at any time in the 2 weeks after the Session.
THE HANDS
1 - 16 will be played on the day
1 - 24 will have Commentaries and can be replayed for the next 2 weeks
25 - 32 will be totally random hands and can be played for the next 2 weeks
COSTS: The first “taster” Session is free to all students. RealBridge charges us 48 pence per person for 32 hands. We will ask each student who wants to continue playing to make a one-off, non-refundable, payment to cover these costs - £5.00 for 3Q 2024 students, £3.00 for 1Q 2025 students.
