The Northern Ireland Bridge Union is keen to develop relationships with other Bridge-playing communities in the province.
They are aware that our u3a's feature Bridge as one of our key leisure activities.
Many u3a players may also wish to play more widely, perhaps in bigger duplicate events, either face-to-face or online.
The NIBU organises such competitions on a regular basis. Membership of the NIBU is through one of it's affiliated clubs.
There are 2 ways u3a Bridge groups and members could become affiliated:
- The Bridge group could affiliate directly as a unit. This would involve sending a list of members. The NIBU stresses that this would in no way impinge on the u3a Bridge group – all NIBU clubs are fully autonomous and govern themselves.
- Individual players could join on of the NIBU’s affiliated clubs.
To encourage take-up, the NIBU are prepared to offer FREE membership of the NIBU to any u3a Bridge group or member for the first year.
