Gifting Policy

At the 2024 AGM the following Gifting Policy was voted in unanimously:-

BENEFICIARIES - primarily it is members who can receive gifts from Tudor.  The definition of a member is anyone who has paid their annual subscription fees, honorary and life members and those in 1st and 2nd year lessons/classes.

PHYSICAL INCAPACITY AS REASON FOR GIFT 
1.  illness/accident which prevents member from playing bridge (face to face or online).  

2.  accident/illness meaning hospital stay or terminal diagnosis
 

TYPE OF GIFT
In the case of scenario 1 above a card sent by hand/post.  In scenario 2 above a gift and card up to a value of £30 maximum.  Nature of gift in scenario 2 above, d
epending on the recipient, one of the following (examples only, not definitive list) flowers, fruit basket, cheese and biscuits basket, sweets/chocolates.

EXCEPTIONS AND GIFT IDEAS
·  Bereavements - (1 up, 1 across, 1 down) a card on behalf of the club
·  90th birthday celebrations - traditionally we present the member with a card and a gift of alcohol or something associated with one of their hobbies.  Budget £30

·  online directors Christmas box - a voucher, roughly equivalent to £2 per event they have directed for us from Jan 1st to Christmas day

·  volunteers who have helped us significantly - in that case the gift must be costed as part of the 'special project' concerned and the committee must have agreed the gift and budget in advance.

NEVER
We never send gifts (outside the scenarios outlined above) for example to existing or retiring committee members.
