The Malcolm Hayward 2026, fixed teams, competition was held on Thursday 14th May.  Congratulations from across the club go to Andrew Urbanski, Sue Brown, Gareth Evans and Mike Short who won the overall competition - by just 1 IMP with Kate Cox, Derek Trubody, Diane Connors and Allison Pearce giving good chase.  Well done all.  There was a technical glitch on the evening so we weren't able to take a pic of the winners with this impressive trophy.  So our boffins have tried to crop some previous shots we have of each member of the team - apologies for the quality.

The Malcolm Hayward fixed teams competition is a fabulous event for the club.  A huge amount of work is done in advance and behind the scenes to make sure it goes smoothly.  Our whole hearted thanks go to the team who worked hard to make it all happen.  The whole event begins with Paul Gunning who works tirelessly, on everyone’s behalf, to create partnerships and teams.  Across the entire year this is his biggest job as he tries to maintain the number of teams right up to the last minute - thanks Paul.  Then the catering team of Kate and Sue who did such a fabulous job again this year -  and got the catering just right.  Well done both, and thank you.  The directors and scoring team of Carlton, Lesley D, Karen, and Christine - thank you.  And to the wonderful membership who support the club, every time - thank you. And a special thank you to Doug and Jacky who stepped in at the last moment to protect the numbers when our need was greatest - thank you.
