Hurd's Class on Swiss Teams Playing Rational (Copy)

ARE YOU MISSING OUT ON A LOT OF POINTS AT TOURNAMENTS BECAUSE YOU DON’T KNOW HOW TO PLAY IN KNOCKOUTS AND SWISS TEAM GAMES???

Duplicate bridge is itself a “team game”—you and your partner. Playing in Knockouts and Swiss Team games doesn’t change your regular partnership pairing—it adds another pair of your choice to the team, so that your foursome plays every board sitting in both directions, and the scores of both pairs, plus or minus, are combined. No more excuses about bad cards or crazy distribution!

Knockouts go as their name indicates—you need to keep beating other foursomes to progress and keep playing. You aren’t knocked out in a Swiss Teams competition even if you lose against another team—instead, you continue through the session or sessions, and at the end, your success against all the other teams is measured.

Why play in one of these games? Simply because more points are offered for winning in them than in pair games.

We are offering a simple CLASS for those interested in learning more about how Swiss Team games are played and scored—AND about the adjustments which experts suggest you should consider making in your bidding and play when you switch from pairs to team games.

Class will last approximately 1 hour, and will include handouts. $10/class. Classes taught at our regular location at Streams in the Desert Lutheran Church. Please register with Kathy Parker using this form:
