Real Bridge with Real People

There are a number of resources available from RealBridge

 Starter sessions are held regularly approx 10 boards
and the Company will help you get any computer glitches sorted.

Registration

First Time playing with us you need to register your contact details
This helps if you have problems with logging on. It also helps us recognise players as they arrive

This only required once > Register to Play

Member

You do not have to be a member of Truro Bridge Club to join us on line, merely to Register.

MEMBERSHIP: requires you to give full contact details including postal address, and you will need to agree to share your data with other members, by ticking the appropriate box on your registration form.  Membership will give you access to the MEMBERS AREA on our website which provides extra options, showing Membership List, Enables you to find a partner, Your Ranking and others.

Partners

Compertitions are generally pairs events and you need to have organized a partner. 

If you require a partner we have a 'Partner Finder'  > Find a partner


Links to RealBridge session

This is an external platform so there is a link 'RealBridge Login' which will appear in the Calendar and the events listed on the home page

You can not enter until the door is open which will be approx 30minutes before start of play. Please arrive at least 15 minutes in advance so that we can sort out connection problems

The link will take you to a login page which checks both audio and visual capabilities. 

These are EBU competitions so login with your First name and Surname and give your ID as your EBU number for scoring results. If 2 players log in with the same name you will lose your connection.

Once entered you are taken to the Lobby and you will see the vacent seats in white. Click and you will join the table

  Rules for Misclicks and Undo's

Using an online system

There is a risk of 'misclicks' when bidding and playing. The settings cog allows you to set a double click to make a bid or play and this will minimise the problem.

Our rules:

Undos are allowed for genuine misclicks in bidding, but not allowed in the play.

Changes of mind or not paying attention are not acceptable reasons for an undo

Opponents may accept if they are happy to do so, otherwise it is right and proper to call the Director to adjudicate.

  Information on computers for RealBridge

Broadband speed

Check your Brodband,. A low speed will not support both Audio and Video.
You can still play but you will need to turn your video off to prevent your connection freezing.


Video Duplication

You can only have video on one browser window. Check before you try to enter a session


There are known problems using the IPAD series

pple have released new software for everything in the last few days, and have, we think [wonder of wonders] fixed their critical bug. Early indications are:

- All Apple devices can now use any browser. For macOS, Safari must be version 14.0.3 (released Feb 1st, ie brand new).
- As of iOS 14.3 (last one, 14.4 just released) iPads now allow other browsers to do video calling, so you can use eg Chrome.

We think the layout / image quality is marginally better on Chrome than Safari, so I think that's still our recommendation, but going forward (once everyone upgrades to latest) we should see fewer compatibility problems.

INFORMATION FOR MAC USERS:  MacOS (MacBook)

  • iMac and MacBook users who have upgraded to BigSur, please do not use Safari, instead use Google Chrome.
  • iPad users must use Safari.

- You can use Chrome as an alternative to Safari. [Its web video support may be better.]

- In Safari there is a menu item "Safari > Settings for the website...". In that window for RealBridge, select "Allow all auto-play" media, and set the camera & microphone permission to "Allow".
