- The Club shall be known as the Trumpington Bridge Club.
- The Club shall be managed by a Committee consisting of the Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer,
Tournament Director and 2 other members.
- The Committee shall be elected annually at the Annual General Meeting.
- If a committee member retires during the year the Committee shall have the power to co-opt a replacement until the next Annual General Meeting.
- The Club year shall run from 1st September to 31st August.
- The Annual General Meeting shall be held not later than the end of September to:
- receive and approve the accounts for the preceding year;
- determine the annual subscription and table money for the forthcoming year;
- elect the Committee and appoint an auditor (who shall not be a member of the Committee);
- decide any matters notified to the Secretary not less than 21 days before the meeting.
- An Extraordinary General Meeting shall be called at the request of one third of the members by giving the Secretary at least 21 days’ notice in writing of the request. No business other than that contained in the request shall be conducted at the Extraordinary General Meeting.
- Notice of and the agenda for the Annual General Meeting and any Extraordinary General
Meeting shall be sent to the members (via email) at least 7 days before the meeting.
- At any Annual General Meeting or Extraordinary General Meeting, 60% of the membership shall be a quorum.
- Each member shall have one vote at meetings and the Chairman shall have a casting vote.
- Annual subscriptions must be paid by the end of September. Any person joining after 1st March shall pay half the annual subscription.
- Every member of the Club and any visitor shall be expected to conform to the standards of fair play and courtesy prescribed by the English Bridge Union.
- An application to join the Club shall be submitted to the Secretary on the specified application form. The Committee shall decide whether to admit the applicant to membership of the Club.
- The Committee may suspend or cancel the membership of any person in the interests of the Club.
- The Committee shall have power to make guidelines for regulating the affairs and conduct of the Club.
- Any disputes about the affairs and conduct of the Club or any competition shall be resolved according to the laws of the English Bridge Union at the relevant date.
- In the event that the Club is wound up, the equipment shall be transferred to the Cambridge Bridge Club or sold and any remaining funds shall be donated to a charity selected by the Committee.
