Notification of the Trowbridge Bridge Club Annual General Meeting, and Agenda

To be held at 6.30pm on Mon 25^th March 2023

Venue: Trowbridge Rugby Club

To be followed at 7pm by an evening's bridge. There will also be opportunity to attend the AGM by Zoom conference. We hope to enable Q&A and voting as required by the agenda.

The constitution requires the Club to have 3 officers and up to 6 other committee members.

The following current committee members are willing to stand for nomination:

Chairperson - Phil Meats

Treasurer - Peter Glasson

Secretary - Ian Lund

Committee members - Stephen Brackenbury, Gerry McAinsh, Donna Druitt, Brian Mitchell, Diana King

Further nominations are encouraged.  Nominees need to be proposed and seconded and, most importantly, have agreed to be nominated. Nominations should be sent by email to the Secretary at Secretary@trowbridgeclub.org

Peter Glasson has asked for someone to become an associate Treasurer, perhaps shadowing him during the year, and he hopes to stand down next year. If you can handle a spreadsheet, and online banking, this may be for you!

I look forward to seeing many of you on 25^th March. There will be no charge for attending the AGM or participating in the F2F session. (Normal charges will apply on BBO). For housekeeping purposes it would be helpful to know (Secretary@trowbridgeclub.org) if you are coming to the rugby club. The agenda is below.

Notes: The management of the club should consist of a chairman, treasurer and secretary and up to 6 more members forming the committee

The committee has been regularly supported by Stan Christie (webmaster and chief scorer) and Phil Green (chief tournament director)

Please note that Peter Glasson has indicated a wish to stand down as Treasurer at the end of the 2024/5 year and the Committee would welcome the appointment of a potential replacement to 'shadow' Peter in this important role during the current year. Someone who is willing could be elected now (or co-opted later) to the committee.
