On Monday week – Monday 2nd November – we will not be able to use the Rugby Club as they are holding their annual Sportsman’s Dinner that evening.
Arrangements have therefore been made to hold our normal Club evening at the Council Chambers which are located in Trowbridge Civic Centre, St Stephen’s Place, Trowbridge BA14 8AH. Directions and further details (including a map) can be found on http://www.trowbridgecivic.co.uk/page/Find+us#.
The main (multi storey) car park is literally a 2 minute walk across the road and there is free parking although some levels are only free for 2 hours, so do make sure you park on a level which is free for up to 23 hours (which should be sufficient even allowing for slow play!)
The disabled parking spaces are the first spaces on the right as you enter the car park. There is a lift inside the Civic Centre but anyone wishing to use it will need to alert a staff member to let them through the access points.
The venue should not be at all difficult to find but, if you get lost and need help to get yourself back on track, then please ring the Club mobile (07943 185870).
Whilst the facilities are excellent and we will have plenty of space, please however note the following:
i. Although water will be made available in the Council Chambers themselves, we are unable to provide tea and coffee in the normal way during the interval. There is however a tea and coffee machine in the foyer at a cost of £1.20 per cup. There is also a bar downstairs which will be open.
ii. All tea, coffee and drinks from the bar must however be consumed at their place of purchase, i.e. it is not permitted to take them into the Council Chambers themselves.
iii. Furthermore it is not permitted to bring your own drinks or refreshments of any kind into the building.
And finally, we will need to clear everything out of the Civic Centre at the end of the evening. We would therefore very much appreciate a little help with carrying equipment outside so that it can be loaded into cars; and, in particular, we are looking for one or two volunteers with large-ish cars with tailgates who would be willing and able to take some tables away and return them to the Rugby Club the following day.
