General Points Relating to Club Games
1. All games start promptly at the advertised time.
2. Players should be present 15 minutes before the advertised time.
3. Play starts when instructed to do so.
4. Please give full attention to the instructions.
5. Please call the Technical Director whenever any irregularity occurs.
6. Turn off your mobile phone.(If it is absolutely vital you have it on, leave it on ‘vibrate’).
7. Every player should follow standard procedures in calling and playing to facilitate the progress of the game.
8. Every player should pay attention to the game.
9. A player should not comment during the auction or the play.
10. A player should not detach a card before it is his turn to play.
11. A player should not touch the bidding box while considering their bid.
12. A player should not prolong play unnecessarily.
13. A player should not summon the Director in a manner discourteous to him/her or to other players.
13. A player should be considerate and courteous towards other players at all times.
15. A table that is playing slower than other tables should be aware when they are causing delay and forego hands in order to allow for the general flow of play.
16. Refreshment breaks are 15 minutes long. Please ensure that you are back in your seat and ready to start play at the end of 15 minutes.
17. Players who have finished play should speak quietly.
18. Players should be aware that any conduct likely to bring Topsham Bridge Club or the game into disrepute is unacceptable.
The following are considered to be Breaches of Etiquette
1. Indicating approval or disapproval of a call or play.
2. Indicating the expectation or intention of winning or losing a trick prior to it’s completion.
3. Commenting or acting during play that calls attention to an occurrence or the number of tricks still required for success.
4. Showing an obvious lack of further interest in a deal, for example, by folding ones cards.
5. Leaving the table needlessly before the round is called.
