THAKEHAM BRIDGE CLUB |
This popular bridge club was founded in 1980 by four friends who played bridge socially and then decided to form a formal club. The club now has a membership of over one hundred enthusiastic players who enjoy the challenge and reward of the game. Our dealing machine is now fully operational and provides interesting card distributions and hand records that accompany web-posted results.
We meet on: (i) Wednesday evenings at 7:30pm, usually for teams (so it would be Nnvery helpful if you could let Harold know in advance whenever you intend playing) and (ii) Friday afternoons at 1:20pm for duplicate pairs. Please arrive 10-15 minutes before play commences. Visitors are most welcome but no standby partners are provided. However, should you need a partner please contact Harold Linfield on (01798) 812276.
New Item - * Each month we feature a new bridge article This can be found under 'Bridge Articles' on the top left side of our front page, under the relevant month.

Competitions |
The Autumn Teams event will be held Friday 11th October 2024. If you and your partner wish to enter, please add your names to the sign-up sheet on the club noticeboard. Teams of 4 will be selected at random on the day.
Our next event will be the "Children in Need" SIM pairs, which has been scheduled for 8th November 2024.
The annual Midweek Blue Pointed Swiss Pairs SCCBA competition was held at Henfield on the 4th September. This is a well-supported highly competitive competition with a strong field so well-done Jeremy Harris and Peter Harbott for finishing second overall and also David and Andrea Galpin who finished joint 3rd. An excellent result for our Thakeham Bridge Club players.
