Swindon Bridge Club Training Program 2019/20

Swindon Bridge club Has announced it's intention to promote the game for beginners in the local community.

We have invested some of our funds to support our E.B.U qualified .

The club plays Duplicate bridge on Monday and Thursday evenings.We are affiliated to the English Bridge Union (EBU] via the Wiltshire CBA.The venue is at Lawn community Centre at the junction of Windsor Road and Guildford Avenue. Windsor road runs between Marlborough Road and Queens Drive, there is a small roundabout and shops at the junction with Guildford Avenue. There is a reasonable amount of parking at the rear of the community centre.

The club plays from 7pm to 10-30pm on Monday and  7:15pm to 10-45pm on Thursday, the premises will be open from 6-30pm.The club requests that players to arrive 10 minutes before start times to allow the host to arrange seating and the scorer to set up the movement.

Duplimated Hands are normally played on Both evenings.

Visitors are always welcome.

Club Success, Season 2018/19

Congratulations to Mike and Glenis Curtis for winning the Chairman's cup Fielded by 36 pairs. This was the final county event of the season following the AGM at Devizes.

Club Member Promoted to Grand Master

Swindon Bridge club is very pleased to announce  that Jenny Gray reached the rank of Grandmaster in August.   As far as Swindon BC goes, she joins Alan White, who has held this rank for quite some while.

Congratulations to Jenny on a wonderful achievement.

Katharine Hodgson Honoured with Dimmie Fleming Award by the EBU

We are extremely pleased to advise that Katharine Hodgson has received the Dimmie Fleming award from the EBU.

Dimmie Fleming awards are given to publically recognise those who have worked hard and selflessly at promoting bridge locally and at County level over a significant period of time.

The award was presented to Katharine on 28 November in London.

The last Wiltshire member to receive a Dimmie Fleming award was Betty Bartley in 1999.
