Hand of the Week

What a great hand from Friday Afternoon 20/09.  Most found the slam – hard not to really.  Two found 7S.  Unfortunately for us, one at our table. 😒.

Opening a Game Forcing 2C a sequence of cue bidding brings the inevitable 7S.

Without cue bidding, I think you only get to 6 Spades

If West opens 1S  and East responds with either 4 Spades or 2NT then a (RKC) Blackwood enquiry probably only gets you to  6 Spades.

Please submit your suggestion for 'Hand of the Week' together with your commentary/comments via the club email address.  Just identify the hand by session and board Number.

Bridge, It's a Big Deal! - Festival of Bridge

A big 'Thank You' is extended to all those who organised, volunteered and attended the various 'Bridge It's A Big Deal' events we ran to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.

We managed to raise a very creditable £1013.

If anyone who was unable to support one of the events wishes to make a donation, the Collection Box will be available at the club for the rest of this week.  If anyone wishes to make a donation directly to Cancer Research UK please use the link below.  Please remember to add  "Sutton Coldfield Bridge Club" in the message section so we can keep a tally of any online donations made.
