President's Cup |
This year we are running the 'President's Cup' competition over two Friday Afternoon sessions on Friday 22nd November and Friday 6h December
This is a Pairs competition. To qualify the winning pairs must have played in both sessions. Substitutes are not allowed. There is no obligation to play in both sessions, you just won't be included in the 'combined result' for the President's Cup.
Please note that both sessions will be run in the normal manner with individual session results uploaded to the EBU.
N.B. EBU Blue Points will be awarded in each session.
To ensure that everyone has a chance of a winning, the competition will be stratified to arrive at three winning pairs in each of three 'NGS Grade Ranking Groups'
NGS Group A – Aces to Tens
NGS Group B – Nines – Sevens
NGS Group C – Sixes – Two

Assisted Play Session Friday Evenings |
Assisted Play sessions continue to be run every Friday evening. Session start time is 7.00pm
Complete beginners are welcome and will be able to play 'Mini Bridge', a simplfied version of the game without the need to know complex bidding systems. This will be a useful precursor before starting the Beginners Course of lessons scheduled for the New Year.
Once a month there will be a short lesson starting at 6.45pm before the start of play. Many of our existing members may find these sessions useful as a refresher to previously learned subjects.
All members are welcome and may attend the lesson only if they wish.
