Welcome to Tigers Online Bridge Club
The Tigers' Online Bridge Club

♠  The Tigers Online Bridge Club(BBO)  ♣

Founded by Janet Jacques (who sadly passed away Aug 2025) and I

Tigers Online BC was an amalgamation of WPBC(Thursday) and Sunday Tigers(Sunday) at the start of Covid.

When Covid hit Janet and I formed (along with Tony) the Tigers online Bridge club.

(I taught Janet and her wonderful husband David to play(In the early1990s))

I'm sorry, but

"The Tigers Online Bridge club"

is closed.

Last Duplicate was 30th April

Thank you all for making the last duplicate the best attended on that evening in the UK 13 tables and no robots.

I have ran the Tigers from all over Europe and Egypt, getting a stable internet connection was not always easy.

The best was running it from my Tent (Beached up on Loch Ness) while I was  canoeing the Caledonian Canal/Lochs from West(Fort William) to East(Inverness).

I am taking a break from Bridge, which also means giving up teaching Bridge for the foreseeable future after 40 years of commitment (3000+ lessons🫨) and 1300+  lucky students!!!!

Its a Dorian Grey picture  devil

with being a Trustee(20+years), President(4+ Years) of the Nottingham Bridge Club and club member since 1978!

being a teacher trainer for EBED/EBU

and in the past running the Wollaton Park Bridge Club(1992 until Covid), averaging 18.5 Tables a week 2011-2019(Hitting 25 Tables on several occasions)

During covid I ran several NCBA and DCBA clubs as a director on BBO to keep things going

along with running a T04 league in Nottinghamshire with 6 divisions of 4 a lot of fun, hard work, but it kept things together and helped stop the boredom.

It's time for a break!

I may return sometime in the future.

thank you all,

its been more than a way of life!

♠   I will miss it and I will miss you all  ♣

and

Hi Andrew

I was very sorry to hear that the Tigers would no longer be running. When COVID hit, BBO and on line bridge was a life saver giving us all much to be thankful for. You’ve built up many followers and that’s because of the person you are, loving bridge and wanting to help others.

I can only thank you for teaching me and all your help over the last few years. You were the one person I trusted for advice on how to play.

I hope you enjoy your break from bridge, you certainly deserve it.

Hi Andrew,

With the last session coming up this Thursday I had to write to say thank you for all the hard work you have put in over the years. I so enjoyed playing at Wollaton where the standard was variable but competitive and it must have been the friendliest club in the county (if not the UK). I think your concept was that bridge should be enjoyable and it certainly was at Wollaton. Then, when Covid hit, you kept the members together and things going with the online bridge club.

So best wishes for the future and thank you again.
